Educational Resources for Iowa Building Maintenance Professionals

IABME promotes classes throughout Iowa in boiler operation and maintenance, building maintenance, and custodial and housekeeping practices. We also publish "Iowa Building Maintenance News," a trade newsletter dedicated to Iowa building maintenance professionals.

IABME provides instructional textbooks, brochures, videos, and other classroom study materials. We administer a voluntary certification program covering boiler operation, air conditioning and heat pumps, electrical principles, building maintenance, and custodial and housekeeping practices.

IABME sponsors an annual summer maintenance school in Ames, Iowa, featuring certification classes and one-day seminars. Continuing Education Units (CEUs) are awarded after successful completion.

Membership

Membership in a local chapter is a place where members can share knowledge and problems with others at monthly meetings held throughout the year. IABME helps obtain programs for local chapter meetings.

We are constantly searching for methods and materials to help make building maintenance personnel more proficient in their chosen profession.
